A MAN faced a terrifying moment when the BMW he was driving suddenly lost control before skidding and going over the road divider in the Mid Valley Mall area, East Entrance, Kuala Lumpur.

Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook said the incident occurred at about 6.10pm yesterday.

He said that the results of the investigation found that the vehicle owner came forward to file a police report after the accelerator pedal had become stuck, causing him to lose control.

“The vehicle hit a concrete structure and a nearby pond before skidding and going over the road divider,” he said in a statement today.

He said the case was being investigated by the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) in accordance with Rule 10, Road Traffic Regulations, L.N. 166/59.

Earlier, a video recording went viral showing a man being helped by police and members of the public to get out of a vehicle, as well as a large broken vase. – December 6, 2025
