HANNAH Yeoh has been reassigned as Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), while Steven Sim has been made the new Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development.
This was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as part of a cabinet reshuffle today.
Prior to this, Yeoh was the youth and sports minister, while Sim was the Human Resources Minister.
Taking over from Sim will be Datuk Seri R. Ramanan who is the PKR vice president.
Liew Chin Tong was named the new Deputy Finance Minister, while Datuk Mustapha Sakmud was appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department overseeing Sabah and Sarawak Affairs.
Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir has been entrusted with leading the Ministry of Economy, taking charge of national economic planning and reform initiatives.
Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani was appointed Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, a portfolio central to Malaysia’s trade relations and industrial growth strategy.
Dr Zulkifli Hasan was named the new Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department responsible for Religious Affairs, while Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari was appointed as the new Minister of Youth and Sports.
Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad was named Minister of Plantation and Commodities, overseeing one of the country’s key export sectors.
Meanwhile, Marhamah Rosli was appointed Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs.
Two ministers in the Prime Minister's Department were dropped from the cabinet.
They are Dr Zaliha Mustafa (Federal Territories) and Mohd Na'im Mokhtar (Religion).
In the same announcement, Deputy National Unity Minister K. Saraswathy was also dropped from the Cabinet.
