PAKATAN Harapan State Legislative Assembly members (ADUNs) are calling for the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (DUN) session, which was postponed from its original schedule, to be convened immediately.

Nilai assemblyman J. Arul Kumar said they had not received any official notification regarding the postponement, noting that the session dates of October 16 to 22 were still listed on the official 'e-Dewan' portal as of this morning.

He added that the postponement effectively denies elected representatives the opportunity to seek explanations from the state government regarding various issues.

“We hope that this State Legislative Assembly (DUN) session will be convened immediately. There is no need to wait until the budget session, as the session intended for today is a regular sitting that ought to be held,” he said when met at Wisma Negeri today.

The Negeri Sembilan DAP Chairman stated that all State Assembly members had previously been asked to submit oral and written questions for the session, in addition to preparing to debate various issues concerning the public.

He noted that the State Legislative Assembly session serves as a crucial platform for elected representatives to obtain official information and clarifications from the state government.

“As elected representatives, we are chosen to be the voice of the people and to bring forth their concerns. If the session is not held, how are we supposed to raise these issues and seek explanations from the state government?” he asked.

Arul added that the regular session, originally scheduled for October, should not be replaced by the budget session, which is expected to take place on November 26.

“We are effectively losing one State Legislative Assembly session. Having two sessions would be better than just one, especially since budget debates are subject to time constraints,” he said.

He expressed hope that issues regarding the state administration would be resolved promptly to ensure the smooth functioning of government affairs, thereby preventing any negative impact on the interests of the people.

Previously, Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim stated that the State Legislative Assembly session, originally scheduled for today had been postponed to the end of next month to accommodate the official opening ceremony and the tabling of the budget. – October 16, 2026
