THE traffic congestion that has gripped the Bandar Sunway area since this morning is reportedly still ongoing this afternoon, forcing road users to spend hours on the road.

Social media posts indicate that several routes around Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, and the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) are packed with vehicles, causing traffic to move at a crawl.

Several road users reported that the congestion, which began this morning, had not even eased till afternoon.

One user, @fattinaishh, claimed that a journey from Shah Alam to SS14, which typically takes about 10 minutes, ended up taking nearly an hour.

“I left my office in OUA Shah Alam at noon for a dentist appointment at 12:30 pm. It usually only takes 10 minutes to reach SS14, but today it took an hour. I have no idea what kind of traffic jam this is,” she said.

Meanwhile, @nrl_omey noted that the area around Bandar Sunway remained congested at 12:40 pm, though traffic usually clears up by 10:30 or 11:00 am.

“Usually, by 10:30 or 11:00 am, traffic here is clear. Well, look at this, at 12:40 pm, it’s still jammed and not moving at all. The queue stretches all the way from the Bandar Sunway toll plaza,” she wrote.

A similar situation was reported by @berry_anchun, who claimed that congestion remained severe around 12:30 pm, particularly for vehicles attempting to exit toward the LDP.

“We need the traffic police—we don’t want Sunway’s auxiliary police handling traffic when things are this bad. Please, send in the traffic police; you are the real experts,” the user stated.

In a related update, another post from around 2:00 pm showed a long line of vehicles still filling the road in front of Sunway Medical Centre (SMC), indicating that the congestion persisted well into the afternoon.

Several images and recordings shared by users also depicted long queues of vehicles across various routes in the Bandar Sunway area, with traffic moving at a crawl.

Meanwhile, Astro Radio Traffic reported in an update at 12:50 pm that traffic on the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) was moving slowly from SS17 toward Sunway.

According to the report, the congestion was caused by a broken-down bus in the left lane of the exit ramp leading toward the LDP. – October 15, 2026
