POLICE have received another report involving a child allegedly sexually assaulted at a religious school in Kampung Pandan, marking the second known case linked to the same suspect, a 40-year-old male teacher at the institution.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said the latest report was lodged by the family of an 11-year-old boy at about 1pm yesterday.

“The case is still under investigation and the suspect is still in remand to assist with investigations. There is one more report involving a new victim and the same suspect.

“The report was made by the victim’s family and we are conducting the same investigation against the suspect,” he told reporters after attending the Prihatin Insani programme with the Kuala Lumpur Police Family Association at the Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters today.

Fadil said police hoped members of the public would come forward and cooperate with investigations, stressing that cases of this nature require community assistance, particularly from those with relevant information.

The development follows earlier reports that police had recorded statements from six witnesses to assist investigations into the alleged sexual assault of a pupil at the same religious school. The suspect, a 40-year-old teacher, was detained to facilitate inquiries.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Lazim Ismail was previously reported as saying that police received the initial report on the incident at 4.16pm on December 16.

Separately, Fadil expressed appreciation for the cooperation of Yayasan Al-Izuddin, MedicAid and Sri Ternak in supporting members of the Kuala Lumpur police force through the community programme. He said the assistance was aimed at underprivileged police personnel and those with children with special needs.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur PERKEP chairperson Datin Nurashidah Ishak said the event was not merely about distributing aid, but reflected shared values of humanity, compassion and social responsibility.

She said the association remained committed to complementing the efforts of the Royal Malaysia Police in safeguarding the welfare of police families, particularly wives and children.

“These groups are part of our society and have the right to be respected and given fair opportunities.

“Children with special needs, in particular, come with their own unique qualities, hidden talents and great potential if they are given continuous support, space and understanding from all parties,” she said. - December 22, 2025
