POLICE have confirmed that the body found buried in a bag near an abandoned house at Kampung Batu 4 Pedas, Rembau, on December 18 is that of Suri Narudin.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the identification was confirmed through fingerprint analysis, which matched records held by the National Registration Department.
“The police submitted a set of fingerprints for examination and comparison at the Malaysian Criminal Registration Office, Criminal Investigation Department, Bukit Aman Police Headquarters,” he said in a statement today.
“Based on the examination and comparison of the fingerprints, police confirmed that the fingerprints matched records in the National Registration Department system.
They were registered under the name Suri Narudin, who was reported missing based on a report lodged at Ampang Police Station on December 15,” he added.
The discovery followed earlier reports that the body of a woman had been found concealed inside a bag and buried at an unoccupied house in Batu 4 Pedas.
Less than 24 hours after the discovery, police arrested two men in separate locations in Melaka and Genting Sempah. One of them is believed to be the main suspect and was known to the victim.
Alzafny said police had also received DNA analysis results from the Chemistry Department of Malaysia, further strengthening the identification process.
“Based on the DNA analysis conducted, comparison of DNA profiles showed that the analysed specimens demonstrated a close familial relationship,” he said.
“It involved samples from immediate siblings, with a very high probability of relationship, thereby further confirming the identity of the deceased as Suri,” he added.
He called on members of the public who may have information related to the case to come forward and assist investigations by contacting the Rembau District Police Headquarters or the nearest police station.
“The Royal Malaysia Police assures that the investigation will be conducted transparently, professionally and in accordance with the law,” he said.
“The public is advised not to engage in any speculation that could jeopardise the investigation process,” he added. - December 24, 2025
