The epicentre was located approximately 16 kilometres south-west of Segamat - December 28, 2025

A WEAK earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 was detected in the Bukit Kepong area of Pagoh at 8.55am today, prompting reports of tremors felt across parts of Johor and neighbouring Melaka.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the quake was recorded at coordinates 2.4 degrees north latitude and 102.7 degrees east longitude, at a depth of 10 kilometres. The epicentre was located approximately 16 kilometres south-west of Segamat.

“Kemas kini memaklumkan gegaran turut dirasai di beberapa kawasan sekitar Johor dan Melaka,” the department said in a statement issued today.

MetMalaysia continues to monitor the situation and will provide further updates should there be any significant developments. - December 28, 2025
