12 Selangor FC fans charged with possession, misuse of drugs

12 Selangor FC fans charged with possession, misuse of drugs
If convicted, the first accused could be jailed for not more than five years or fined not more than RM20,000 or both. - February 4, 2026

A TOTAL of 12 Selangor FC supporters were charged in the Kuala Terengganu Magistrate's Court today on charges of possessing and abusing drugs last Sunday.

Accused Muhammad Amirul Izham Anuwa, 26, was charged with possessing dangerous drugs suspected to be cannabis weighing 1.12 grams at about 9.30pm in the compound of the Kuala Terengganu District Police Headquarters (IPD) on February 2.

The accused was charged with committing an offence under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act (DDA) 1952 which is punishable under the same act.

If convicted, he could be jailed for not more than five years or fined not more than RM20,000 or both.

For the second charge, the accused on the same date, place and time had in his possession a dangerous drug suspected of being nimetazepam weighing 0.37 grams.

The accused committed an offence under Section 12(2) of the DDA 1952 and is punishable under Section 12(3) of the same act, if convicted he can be fined not more than RM100,000 or imprisoned not more than five years or both.

Both charges were read together and the accused was allowed bail of RM5,000.

Another charge Muhammad Amirul Izham faces is the charge of injecting a dangerous drug suspected of being Tetrahydrocannabinol into his body at the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division Office of the Kuala Terengganu IPD on the same date and time.

The accused committed an offence under Section 15(1) (a) of the DDA 1952 (Amended 2002) and is punishable under Section 15(1) of the same act and read together with Section 38B(1) of the DDA 1952.

If convicted, the offender may be fined not more than RM5,000 or be sentenced to imprisonment for a period not more than two years and police supervision for not less than two years and not more than three years.

Five other accused - Adam Hakimi Misra, 20; Asyraaf Syazwan Azman, 25; Akmal Haqim Amir Hamzah, 25; Mohamad Alif Aiman ​​Abdullah, 26 and Muhammad Akmal Hakim Abd Aziz, 29, also face the same charge of injecting a dangerous drug suspected to be tetrahydrocannabinol into the body.

The offence was allegedly committed between 2.55 am and 3.45 am at the Terengganu Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on February 2.

The five committed an offence under Section 15(1) (a) of the DDA 1952 (Amended 2002) and are punishable under Section 15(1) of the same act and read together with Section 38B(1) of the DDA 1952.

If convicted, they can be punished with a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonment for a term not more than two years and police supervision of not less than two years and not more than three years.

All the accused were granted bail of RM2,000 pending the results of the lab test.

Magistrate Iffah Nabihah Mohd Ishak then set the case for mention on February 4, 5 and 6 to await the results of the test.

Meanwhile, in a separate court, six other accused - Mohamad Shafirul Hisham Hassan, 26; Ahmad Ziyad Zulkifli, 26; Muhamad Syafiq Junaedi, 27; Muhammad Afiq Haikal Gunawan, 27 and Ahmad Naqiuddin Ahmad Nordzri, 29, were charged with committing the same offence between 12.30 am and 3.20 am on the same date and time.

Thus, all the accused committed the offence under Section 15(1) (a) DDA 1952 (Amended 2002) and are punishable under Section 15(1) of the same act and read together with Section 38B(1) ADB 1952.

If convicted, they can be punished with a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonment for a term of not more than two years and police supervision of not less than two years and not more than three years.

Another accused, Muhammad Asyraf Azli, 25, was charged with injecting dangerous drugs suspected to be Methamphetamine into his body between 12.30 am and 3.31 am at the Terengganu IPK compound on the same date.

The accused committed an offence under Section 15(1) (a) DDA 1952 (Amended 2002), if convicted, he can be punished with a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonment for a period of not more than two years and police supervision of not less than two years and not more than three years.

Magistrate Noor Mazrinie Mahmood allowed all the accused to be bailed at RM2,500 and the re-mention date was set for April 30.

The prosecution of the case was conducted by Deputy Public Prosecutors, Nur Anith Nabilah Rusli and Ely Nazihah Ahmad Yunus while the accused was represented by lawyer Nur Wahidah Kamilah Razali. – February 4, 2026
