TANJONG Karang UMNO Division welcomes any individual, including its former Division UMNO Chief, Tan Sri Noh Omar, but insists that it must be done without any conditions.
Tanjong Karang Division UMNO Chief, Datuk Sulaiman Abd Razak, said that his party did not interfere in Noh's personal decision to resign as a member of the Supreme Leadership Council (MPT) of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), but rather left it entirely to him to determine his political direction.
However, he said, any re-entry must go through a set process, including the scrutiny of a special committee established by the party.
"We in Tanjong Karang respect Tan Sri Noh's decision because it is his right to make any political decision," he said.
Sulaiman said that the stance was in line with the 'Rumah Bangsa' idea announced by UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, during the last UMNO General Assembly (PAU).
According to him, the concept opens up a wide space for Malays, including those who have been sacked, disciplined, left the party or have never been members, to return to strengthen the struggle.
"The President has said before that the 'Rumah Bangsa' concept is open to all Malays.
"So as a grassroots person, I personally welcome anyone, including those from Bersatu, if they want to return to UMNO.
"But without conditions, that is the most important thing. You cannot leave a position in your old party and then want the same position in UMNO. The process is complicated and needs to go through an assessment," he added.
In a related development, Sulaiman revealed that Tanjong Karang Member of Parliament, Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi had met him personally several times last year to express his intention to rejoin UMNO.
"For me, there is no obstacle, but the final decision is at the Supreme Council level because he is not an ordinary member, but rather a Member of Parliament.
"Maybe the constraints related to the anti-party hopping law were a consideration, and that is why the matter was not pursued," he added.
He stressed that if he wanted to return, participation must be based on sincerity and without any demands, including questions of nomination or position. – February 17, 2026
