A 16-YEAR-OLD male student was injured after he was allegedly assaulted by two senior students at an educational institution in Pekan earlier this week.
Pekan District Police Chief Superintendent Zaidi Mat Zin said police received a report regarding the incident at about 1.05pm on Thursday.
According to the report, the victim had been summoned by two senior students to the rear section of the institution’s workshop at around 4pm on Tuesday.
"While at the back of the workshop, the victim was suddenly struck several times and pushed by two suspects, both aged 19.
"As a result of the incident, the victim sustained soft tissue injuries to the left side of the neck, left chest, left arm, and right knee," he said in a statement last night.
Preliminary investigations found that the incident was believed to have been triggered by the suspects’ dissatisfaction with the victim for failing to apologise to an instructor over an earlier offence involving the use of an electronic cigarette within the institution’s premises.
Police have recorded statements from the victim as well as the two suspects involved, both aged 19.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt. - March 6, 2026
