More good news from PM: Guessing game online ranges from EPF withdrawals, free tolls to extra holidays

THE recent announcement that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be sharing more 'good news' before Hari Raya has led to a guessing game among netizens, with many taking their expectations online.

One favourite piece of 'good news' several netizens were hoping for was an additional holiday in conjunction with Hari Raya for all states.

Following that was a request that the government allow EPF withdrawals of up to RM2,000 for Hari Raya expenses and also free toll for the first and second days of the celebration.

Some others were hoping that Anwar would announce an additional RM100 under the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) aid for all those eligible.

There were also suggestions that the government offer a 20 per cent reduction in the ceiling prices of controlled goods in conjunction with Hari Raya.

Overall, the most supported suggestion was for the government to allow EPF withdrawals for up to RM2,000 to be used for Hari Raya expenses. – March 12, 2026
