KUANTAN – Repair works following yesterday’s landslide at Km 63 and Km 73 of Jalan Kuantan-Segamat in Pekan near here, are expected to be completed by Monday.

Pahang works, transport and health committee chairman Datuk Seri Norolazali Sulaiman said immediate repair work at Km 73, is expected to be completed tomorrow, if the weather is good.

“This immediate repair work is being carried out by the road construction contractor as the road is still in the process of final construction work,” he said when contacted today.

Norolazali said the landslide occurred yesterday at about 10am at the construction area of an upgrading project of the federal route from Gambang, here to Segamat in Johor, however, no casualties were reported.

Traffic from Kuantan to Segamat has been diverted to Paloh Hinai onwards to Pekan town before exiting at Leban Chondong and Muadzam Shah in Rompin.

Road users from Segamat to Kuantan, meanwhile, can take the alternative route from Leban Chondong and Muadzam Shah to enter the Rompin-Nenasi-Kuantan route. – Bernama, January 2, 2021
