SABAH’S Deputy Chief Minister II and Finance Minister, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, has urged Qhazanah Sabah Berhad to strengthen its strategic planning to ensure the efficient, transparent, and impactful management of the state’s assets and investments.

He emphasised the importance of proactively seeking new opportunities, particularly in high-growth sectors such as technology, renewable energy, and the digital economy, with the aim of generating sustainable returns and delivering tangible benefits to the people of Sabah.

Daily Express reported on Tuesday that Masidi made these remarks during a courtesy visit by Qhazanah Sabah chairman Tan Sri Anifah Aman and his delegation, during which the agency outlined its strategic direction and future plans.

He further highlighted the need for robust governance, ongoing monitoring, and innovative approaches in project implementation.

He assured that the Sabah Finance Ministry would support efforts to align Qhazanah’s strategies with state fiscal policies, reinforcing the overall financial position of the state.

“The goal is to ensure that Sabah’s investments are not only profitable but also strategically positioned to drive long-term growth and prosperity for our citizens,” Masidi said, stressing the centrality of transparency and accountability in managing public resources. - April 7, 2026
