A MOTORCYCLIST lost his life after colliding with another motorcycle and being run over by a trailer on the SILK Highway heading towards Semenyih yesterday evening, police confirmed.

Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yussof, said today that the accident occurred at approximately 6.30pm at Kilometer 21.7 of the highway when the victim’s motorcycle struck the rear of another bike.

"The impact caused the victim, who was also a private tutor, to lose control and fall onto the road, where he was subsequently run over by a trailer travelling in the same direction, whose driver was unaware of the incident," he said in a statement today.

The 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries to his head and body.

"The rider and passenger of the other motorcycle, as well as the trailer driver, did not sustain any injuries," Naazron added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. Conviction under this provision carries a jail term of five to ten years and a fine ranging from RM20,000 to RM50,000.

Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the incident to assist with the investigation. "Members of the public who have information are requested to contact Inspector Nur Faezah Mohd Zakria at 012-3268496," said Naazron. - April 9, 2026
