3 Triso ferry victims to be cremated Tuesday

SIBU – Two hearses carrying the remains of three victims of the Triso ferry tragedy arrived at the mortuary in Jalan Bukit Lima here about 1am today.

On hand to receive the remains of Lorna Ting, 33, and her two sons, Alvin Phang, 12, and Wallace Phang, 7, was her widower, Phang Wei Beng. 

The hearses left Sri Aman Hospital about 8pm yesterday after a special prayer for the three victims.

Their remains will be placed at the mortuary here to allow relatives to pay their last respects, and will be taken to the Nirvana Memorial Park for cremation on Tuesday.

Ting and her two children were among the nine people who died when the vehicle they were in plunged into Sg Triso on Friday.

The other victims are Ting’s sister, Siti Aishah Abdullah, 36, and five of Siti Aishah’s children, Nor Shuhada Mohamad Hamzah, 16; Khairunnisa, 14; Mohd Aiman, 7; Muhd Mustaqim, 5; and, Mohd Ahmad, 4 months.
