THE Road Transport Department (JPJ) has denied claims circulating on social media platforms, including Threads, suggesting that free vehicle licences are being issued to the public.
The department, known as Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia, said it had received complaints regarding fake advertisements promoting such offers, which have gone viral online.
In a statement, JPJ stressed that the advertisements were false and unauthorised.
“The public is advised not to be easily deceived by any promotions offered through suspicious accounts or platforms to avoid confusion and the risk of financial loss,” it said.

It also clarified that there should be no confusion with the MyLesen B2 programme, adding that applications for the initiative have already closed and only successful applicants are contacted to register at driving institutes.
“The MyLesen B2 programme application session has been closed, and selected individuals will be contacted to register at driving institutes,” the department said.
JPJ further emphasised that all official announcements are only made through its verified Facebook pages, including JPJ headquarters and state accounts, and not through unofficial or unverified profiles.
Members of the public are advised to always verify information through official JPJ channels before believing or sharing any content.
“Any complaints or further information can be submitted through the official JPJ complaint portal at [https://jpj.spab.gov.my/,”](https://jpj.spab.gov.my/,”) it added.
“JPJ is committed to ensuring the delivery of accurate information and protecting the interests of users from any form of fraud,” the statement said. - May 1, 2026
