DATUK Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed that there will be no change in the administration of the Negeri Sembilan government and that the position of Menteri Besar is still held by Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

This, despite being the action of 14 Umno State Assemblymen (ADUN) withdrawing their support.

The Prime Minister stressed that all parties, including the Umno leadership, should remain calm and respect the order of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar, who wants Aminuddin, who is also the Sikamat assemblyman, to continue his duties as usual.

"The situation in Negeri Sembilan should remain calm first. As we know, some issues must be resolved according to the state Constitution, while we follow the order of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, who asked the Menteri Besar to continue his duties, governing the state in this economic crisis.

“We can negotiate, but now let's not disrupt efforts to revive the economy and protect the interests of the people. That's what's important," he told reporters after performing Friday prayers at the Nurul Iman Mosque, today.

Yesterday, Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed that all 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan agreed to continue to remain with the Unity Government in the state to ensure that stability is maintained.

He said the decision was reached following discussions during his meeting with all the elected representatives involved.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the BN Chairman, said that the steps taken by all 14 assemblymen involved were actually well-intentioned to defend the monarchy and customs in Negeri Sembilan, respected and supported by all the people.

Asked whether the move to withdraw support for the Menteri Besar, but still supporting the Unity Government in Negeri Sembilan, was an action to change the Menteri Besar, Ahmad Zahid said that any problems or disputes should be faced together. – May 1, 2026
