A MALE student was reported to have fainted during a school assembly in Kapar before being confirmed dead at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) on Friday.

North Klang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner S Vijaya Rao said the boy was 12 years old and a Year Six student at the school in question.

"The victim was reported to have fainted at about  8.30 am during an assembly at the school.

"The victim was then taken to HTAR for follow-up treatment; however, he was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital," he told Sinar Harian.

He said that an autopsy conducted on the child found that there were no criminal elements in connection with the incident.

"So far, the cause of death has not been confirmed (pending investigations).

"The case is classified as sudden death (SDR)," he said. – May 9, 2026
