BARISAN Nasional (BN) has unveiled a 63-point manifesto for the Johor state election, promising expanded housing assistance, 200,000 quality jobs, increased education funding and greater support for businesses as it campaigns for a fresh mandate to extend its administration of the state.
Launched under the theme "Maju Johor, Kestabilan Dikekalkan, Kemajuan Diteruskan" (Advancing Johor, Preserving Stability, Sustaining Progress), the manifesto is built around six pillars of the Maju Johor development agenda.
Johor BN chairman Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the manifesto was formulated based on the coalition's four years in government and shaped by the needs and aspirations of the people of Johor.
“Four years ago, Bangsa Johor placed its trust in Barisan Nasional to lead this state. During that period, we have worked hard and achieved much together.
"Drawing on that experience and proven track record, I am introducing the Barisan Nasional Johor Manifesto, which outlines 63 commitments based on the six pillars of Maju Johor," he said in a Facebook post on Friday.
Among BN's key pledges is the expansion of the targeted Bantuan Kasih Johor (BKJ) assistance programme, the introduction of a rental deposit payment scheme for young people and a RM100 million housing fund aimed at increasing access to subsidised homes. The coalition also pledged to continue existing first-home assistance, house entry grants and rental assistance schemes.
To strengthen the state's economy, BN pledged to create 200,000 quality jobs for Johoreans, waive first-year business licence fees for hawkers and small traders, and allocate an additional RM100 million to interest-free micro-financing programmes.
The manifesto also promises to strengthen the participation of Johor's micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in strategic investment supply chains.
In education, BN has committed RM100 million to enhance the Johor Youth Education Fund, while continuing financial incentives for Johorean university students and expanding the Semarak Isya' programme.
Onn Hafiz stressed that the manifesto reflected achievable commitments grounded in the coalition's governing experience rather than election rhetoric.
"It is not merely a collection of promises, but is built upon our experience in government, our proven record and our determination to take Johor further forward," he said.
He urged Johor voters to grant BN a renewed mandate to ensure continuity in the state's development agenda.
BN secured control of the Johor government in the 2022 state election after winning 40 of the 56 State Legislative Assembly seats. Pakatan Harapan won 12 seats, Perikatan Nasional secured three, while MUDA captured one seat.
Nomination day is scheduled for Saturday, followed by early voting on July 7 and polling on July 11. - June 26, 2026
