THE public, especially road users in Terengganu, are advised to be more vigilant following the appearance of a panther on the side of the road near the Tasik Kenyir area, which was filmed by a man last night.
According to a post uploaded on Facebook, the incident is believed to have occurred at around 8.06 pm on the side of the Second East-West Highway near the Petron Tasik Kenyir petrol station, Gawi, Terengganu.
"It is dangerous if a motorbike passes on Jalan Gawi right in front of the petrol station. Be careful, everyone, when passing through this area," said the post.
The young man who filmed the video also took a brave step by chasing the wild animal back into the forest.
The sharing has drawn various reactions from netizens who remind road users to always be vigilant and worried about encountering wild animals.
They also urged the relevant authorities to take action to ensure the animal is relocated without any harm coming to it. – July 5, 2026
