IPOH – A 100-km stretch of Jalan Chikus in Langkap, Teluk Intan, near the Attaduri cemetery, has been closed off to all vehicles since yesterday due to a cave-in.

Perak infrastructure, energy, water and public transport committee chairman Datuk Zolkafly Harun said the cave-in occurred at about 10am yesterday.

“According to the Public Works Department, the cave-in occurred due to an overflow of water from Sg Batang Padang caused by the floods in Hilir Perak.”

He said notices have been put up in the area to warn motorists of the closure, adding that authorities will continue to monitor the situation. – Bernama, January 5, 2021
