PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) has accepted with an open heart its defeat in the 16th Johor State Election after failing to secure any representation in the Johor State Legislative Assembly.
PN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said the coalition respected the outcome of the election, describing the result as part of Malaysia's democratic process.
"Whatever the outcome, we accept it with an open heart and with full respect for the democratic process.
"Thank you for your trust, support and prayers. God willing, PN will remain steadfast in being the voice of the people, championing mature politics, integrity, and the welfare and well-being of all," he said in a Facebook post on Sunday.
Ahmad Samsuri, who is also Terengganu Menteri Besar, expressed his appreciation to Johor voters for fulfilling their democratic responsibility and thanked PN's election machinery for their dedication throughout the campaign.
"My deepest appreciation goes to all PN campaign workers who worked tirelessly throughout the campaign.
"Their sacrifice of time, energy and commitment reflects the seriousness of our struggle to provide the best service to the people," he said.
Official results showed PN failed to win any of the 33 state seats it contested, while Barisan Nasional secured a commanding 48 of Johor's 56 seats to retain the state government, with Pakatan Harapan winning the remaining eight seats. - July 12, 2026
