POLICE in Kota Bharu are seeking a man and a girl featured in a viral video allegedly showing the man kicking the child at a Thai restaurant in Telipot.

Kota Bharu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azmir Damiri said police received a report from a member of the public about the video, which was circulated on Threads, at about 10.24pm yesterday.

He said the footage showed a man allegedly acting aggressively towards and kicking a girl believed to be his daughter.

“The recording is believed to have taken place at a Thai restaurant in Telipot, and the video was uploaded by the premises owner through his Facebook account,” he said in a statement today.

Mohd Azmir said police had opened an investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.

He said police were still working to identify and locate the man and girl shown in the video.
