THE Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council announced that the proclamation regarding the removal of Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir was executed in accordance with Article 10(2) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959 (UUTKNS).
According to a media statement issued today, the meeting also announced that Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar has been selected and recognised as the new Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, effective immediately.
In a statement today, the state executive council announced that the decision was reached during a meeting chaired by Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim yesterday.
The statement noted that, pursuant to Article 10 of the UTKNS 1959—dated April 19, 2026—the document was signed and sealed by the legitimate Undang Luak and is currently in force.
“It is the absolute prerogative of the Undang Yang Empat to select and remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, and this prerogative is guaranteed by Articles 32 and 79 of the UUTKNS 1959, as well as Articles 71 and 181 of the Federal Constitution.
“The proclamation was also signed by Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim on August 3, 2026, rendering the proclamation valid in accordance with Article 10(2) of the UUTKNS 1959,” the statement read.
