POLICE in Kulim are actively recording statements from multiple individuals following an incident in which a 13-year-old male student sustained severe injuries after falling from the third floor of a secondary school building on Sunday.

Kulim District Police Chief Superintendent Syamsul Sinring confirmed that the injured teenager remains under medical treatment at Kulim Hospital while investigations continue.

"We are currently taking statements from several individuals, and no arrests have been made in connection with this case," Syamsul stated when contacted today.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:40pm during a school recess period. Police received an emergency report from a 48-year-old male teacher who discovered the student lying injured on the ground floor near the stairwell of the school's Block E.

Preliminary police enquiries indicate that the student was allegedly facing severe academic pressure prior to the fall. - October 6, 2026
