KUALA LUMPUR – The Perikatan Nasional administration's stint in Putrajaya may be moving closer to its end after Machang MP Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub withdrew support for Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Kelantan Umno chief said that his decision to pull away from Muhyiddin was done without interference from other parties.

Sinar Harian reported that the Machang MP's shocking decision was based on his desire to pursue principles set by his Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.

He went on to explain that his move would in no way cause the collapse of the federal government, given that PN and its allies have 110 seats in Parliament compared to Pakatan Harapan's (PH) 108.

Ahmad Jazlan also guaranteed that he would support any enactment of laws tabled in the Dewan Rakyat.

His withdrawal of support comes one week after he resigned as chairman of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). – The Vibes, January 9, 2020
