KOTA BARU – The Kelantan Road Transport Department (RTD) recorded the highest collection for bids involving DDY vehicle registration serial numbers, amounting to RM2.28 million.
Its director, Hanif Yusabra Yusuf, said the bidding, which opened on January 29, exceeded its initial target of RM1.9 million.
It was also the highest collection seen since the electronic bidding for vehicle registration number plates (JPJeBid) was introduced in Kelantan, he said.
The highest bid was for the DDY 1 registration number, worth RM155,500, followed by DDY 9 (RM64,700), DDY 8 (RM55,800), DDY 7 (RM55,452), DDY 6 (RM48,010), DDY 3 (RM46,100), DDY 2 (RM45,021), DDY 5 (RM44,000), DDY 33 (RM34,888) and DDY 11 (RM31,200).
“A total of 2,937 bidders were involved for this series and 1,398 of them were successful,” he said in a statement today.
Hanif Yusabra said any registration number successfully bid on must be registered on a vehicle within 12 months from the date the offer letter is issued at the state RTD office or branch.
He said the remaining unregistered numbers will be open to the public at the minimum price.
“The bidding price will be according to the category that has been set, namely the key category with a value of RM20,000; attractive numbers (two digits) at RM3,000; attractive numbers (three digits) at RM2,500; attractive numbers (four digits) at RM2,000; and, popular numbers at RM500 and current numbers worth RM300.
“Members of the public who are interested in the remaining registration numbers can apply for them at state RTD office or branches.”
He added the public is also advised to have mySIKAP ID to get a list of current numbers that have yet to be registered and then buy them online.
Kelantan RTD has so far recorded RM16,019,573 in bid revenue since the JPJeBID system was introduced, starting with the DDP to DDY series. – Bernama, February 4, 2021
