GEORGE TOWN – Two people have been arrested and RM136,918 worth of drugs and assets seized at the upscale Spring condominium in Jelutong, police said today.

The suspects, a man, 20, and a woman, 21, were detained in the raid in the wee hours last Wednesday.

In the raid, a state Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department team confiscated drugs believed to be methamphetamine, ketamin, ecstasy and erimin worth RM77,318.

The condo unit is believed to have been used as a “distribution centre” to courier drugs to peddlers.

District police head Soffian Santong told a press conference that police also seized a vehicle worth RM58,500 and RM1,100 in cash from the premises.

The suspects are being remanded until Monday.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952, which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction. – The Vibes, February 19, 2021
