KOTA KINABALU – Sabah police are intensifying security measures as the first batch of Covid-19 vaccine is expected to arrive here Thursday.
Sabah police chief Datuk Hazani Ghazali said security detail, including patrol cars, has been set up to escort the vehicle carrying the much-needed vaccines to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital storage facility upon its arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
“There are several other storage facilities where the vaccines will be kept until it is time for distribution and immunisation.
“We are expected to oversee the delivery of the vaccines to other areas in Kota Kinabalu as well as Labuan, and a police aircraft will be used to transfer the goods,” he told The Vibes here today.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Md Noor yesterday announced the arrival of the vaccine on Thursday and will be present at the airport on the day. – The Vibes, February 23, 2021
