MIRI – All visitors and Malaysians entering Sarawak are required to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine period at quarantine centres before they are allowed entry into the state.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that this requirement will continue until further notice.
“Anyone from outside Sarawak wanting to enter this state must still undergo the mandatory 14-days quarantine in designated centres.
“However, there is no need to undergo swab tests three days before their intended trip to Sarawak,” he said in a press conference here today.
Uggah said Sarawak still has 12 districts with high coronavirus infections, thus the need to take strict measures to control the spread.
Sarawak today recorded 154 new positive infections.
Sibu district today recorded 45 new cases, while Kuching recorded 23, Miri 16, Serian 13, Bintulu 13, and numerous districts below 10 new cases.
There are still 35 active clusters throughout the state. – The Vibes, March 20, 2021
