MIRI – Some 105 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Jalan Merpati cluster here.

This comes after a week since a cluster was recorded here.

The state Health Department today said 105 people are confirmed to have Covid-19, while 203 others are awaiting results. Those tested positive have been sent to Miri Hospital.

Since March 17, more than 600 people have been identified in the outbreak

On that day itself, Miri recorded 88 Covid-19 infections, 51 of which were from the mall cluster.

Authorities confirmed that the Jalan Merpati cluster index case was a 45-year-old woman who works there.

As of yesterday, the death toll in Sarawak to the virus stands at 99, with more than 15,000 cases to date.
