KUALA LUMPUR – Umno Youth has voiced its unanimous support for the party’s Supreme Council working committee’s decision to leave the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration.

In his final address at the wing’s annual general assembly, chief Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki took note of the preceding heated debate and questioned the floor on whether or not it will back the leadership’s decision, which was made during a party retreat in Janda Baik.

“Do you support us leaving Bersatu?” Asyraf asked.

“Yes!” came the reply from the wing’s delegates.

“Then it’s unanimous. There’s no one opposing. This is a unanimous decision,” he said here today.

He then added that Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had already announced that his party will challenge Umno in each and every seat in the next election.

The youth leader asked whether or not Umno will still remain with the PN coalition in the face of such a betrayal.

At the same time, Asyraf also asked Umno’s Muafakat Nasional (MN) partner PAS about how it would respond to such a slap in the face.

“We have been with MN till today and we will continue to defend and strengthen MN, but we must ask our friend PAS about Muhyiddin’s statement to contest all of Umno’s seats.

“We must know whether or not they will stand with us or otherwise, because it is important before we go to war. We must know who are our enemies and who are our friends… friends who will not backstab us,” said Asyraf. – The Vibes, March 27, 2021
