KOTA KINABALU – Sabah Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has no objections to the state’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) joining the alliance.

LDP had made an application to join PN following a consensus by the party’s supreme council members at a meeting yesterday.

“We will consider this matter,” Hajiji said after launching the Sabah Maju Jaya Plan at the Sabah International Convention Centre today.

“For us, we want everyone to stand united and to bring people together via the political parties and struggle that PN represents.

“We are open to the proposal and we will consider their application when the time comes.”

Meanwhile, LDP president Datuk Chin Shu Pin told The Vibes that it has submitted its application to join PN and is expecting a response in a few weeks.

“We have just applied to join PN. We are not part of PN yet, as has been rumoured.

“But, we are hoping to be part of the alliance soon,” said Chin.

LDP left Barisan Nasional after the 14th general election in May 2018.

The party lost the only parliamentary seat it contested, that is, the Sandakan seat.
