KUALA LUMPUR – All states except Perlis recorded Covid-19 cases today, with 375 infections registered over the last 24 hours, said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The health director-general, in his daily press conference broadcast on Facebook, also reported another five fatalities, pushing up the death toll to 146, and five clusters.
Of the new cases, he said, 371 are local transmissions, with most of them – 271 – recorded in Sabah.
“Of the 371 local cases, 342 involve Malaysians.”
The latest figure brings the country’s overall infections to 14,368, of which 3,703 are active cases.
Dr Noor Hisham said there are another 18 recoveries, taking the total to 10,519, or 73.21% of all cases.
There are 60 patients in intensive care, with 20 requiring respiratory assistance.
The five deaths all occurred in Sabah, said Dr Noor Hisham, while the five clusters are Tujuh Serangkai and Tanamera in Sabah; Jalan Pantai in Kuala Lumpur; Bah Arnab in Sarawak; and, Bah Bangat in Labuan. – Bernama, October 8, 2020
