KUALA LUMPUR – Members of the public who do not have confirmed appointments for the AstraZeneca vaccine at the World Trade Centre here are advised to not show up.

In a tweet, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin cautioned against walk-ins and people showing up hours before their appointment for their jabs.

“The AstraZeneca vaccination centre at WTC KL is operating at 8,000 vaccinations today, up from 2,000 a day. If you do not have an appointment, don’t show up. Also do not show up hours before your appointment.”

Meanwhile, he reiterated the information given out by the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) earlier today.

Anyone whose MySejahtera profile states they are an asymptomatic confirmed case; suspected case; or person under surveillance must not go to vaccination centres even if they have confirmed appointments.

However, Khairy also cautioned those who are close contacts to stay away from the vaccination centres and reschedule their jabs.

“This is because we have found several people with person under surveillance status who showed up for their jabs. They should not even be leaving their houses.

“We can always reschedule their vaccination appointments. Please do not come to the vaccination centres because you risk infecting others.”

JKJAV has requested those affected to reschedule their appointments by calling the hotline at 1800-888-828.

The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force also said walk-ins will not be entertained, and that if there are openings, those on the AstraZeneca waiting list will be contacted via their MySejahtera app, SMS or phone call. – The Vibes, May 15, 2021
