KUALA LUMPUR – The third round opt-in registration for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine yesterday proved to be a struggle for applicants, leaving many frustrated and livid over the technical glitches on the Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee (JKJAV) website.

Many took to social media to complain that they were unable to select the state of choice or appointment dates and some were stuck in an “infinite” Captcha loop. Applicants also complained of not receiving a message after completing the registration process.

Much to the surprise of some unsuccessful applicants, they received notifications from the MySejahtera application this morning stating they had successfully secured an inoculation appointment with the date and vaccination centre.

Lawyer and political secretary to DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, Syahredzan Johan in his tweet today advised disappointed applicants to check their MySejahtera app as they may have been successful.

“I think you need to be able to go past the negeri (state) selection stage though. If you are stuck there, there is no way it’s in the system. Also, try later if nothing in MySejahtera for now.

“Keep trying, hoping that despite the broken system, you got your date,” he tweeted.

Many others have also posted a screenshot of their confirmed appointments which was received today and urged other applicants to continue checking the Covid-19 contact tracing app.

Registration for the third round of AstraZeneca vaccines opened at 12.15pm yesterday and less than an hour later, JKJAV tweeted that 300,000 slots were booked.

By 1.23pm, the JKJAV site said all slots had been filled and registrations closed, while the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force later announced that all remaining 956,609 slots were fully taken up in that hour. – The Vibes, May 27, 2021
