KOTA KINABALU – Covid-19 vaccination for residents in Sabah’s southwestern village of Long Pasia will begin tomorrow, the military said today.
Some 500 villagers will be receiving their first dose tomorrow and June 25 under the Jiwa Murni programme conducted by the Army Combat Medic vaccination initiative.
The Jiwa Murni programme was announced by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor on June 15.
Fifth infantry division commander Datuk Mohd Halim Khalid said the initiative is in collaboration with the Health Ministry and is part of the national immunisation programme.
“The implementation of Jiwa Murni is in line with the army’s aim to increase public engagement.
“It also involves the cooperation between the fifth division and state government as well as other agencies for the well-being of the people in Sabah.”
Long Pasia, located in Sipitang district, has a population of 1,000.
“The vaccine supply from the state government has been received and will be flown into the village by the air force,” he said. – The Vibes, June 23, 2021
