KUALA LUMPUR – Dewan Rakyat Deputy Speaker Datuk Rashid Hasnon today alluded to the reconvening of Parliament soon.

The Batu Pahat MP said Parliament will reconvene either through a normal sitting or hybrid session.

“We will see you soon, God willing,” he said when met at Gate 2 of Istana Negara after his audience with His Royal Highness.

It is believed that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has concluded the meeting with Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun, Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Rais Yatim, and their deputies at noon today.

On Saturday, The Vibes reported that the Agong has summoned Azhar and Rais to discuss the reconvening of Parliament before the emergency ends on August 1.

News portal Malay Mail reported yesterday that the duo’s deputies – Rashid, Azalina, and Ali – are also expected to have an audience with the king.

Parliament has been suspended since January following the declaration of an emergency to curb Covid-19. – The Vibes, June 29, 2021
