KUALA LUMPUR – The Human Resources Ministry announced today that employers must get their staff screened through a designated panel of Covid-19 test providers to have the cost of screening covered by the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

Details of the ‘Program Saringan Prihatin’, as the scheme is named, are available online at https://psp.perkeso.gov.my.

“Employers can perform a Covid-19 screening for their employees for free through a panel of Covid-19 test providers chosen by Socso by making an appointment and providing complete necessary details to the service providers,” Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan said in a statement.

He said that a subsidy system is also available where employers can bear the cost of the screenings first by having their workers tested at laboratories or clinics, and later claim for a subsidy via the ‘Subsidi Saringan Prihatin’ scheme.

“Employers can present the application for the Subsidi Saringan Prihatin through https://psp.perkeso.gov.my by including the payment receipts,” he said.

“Socso will reimburse employers up to RM150 for each employee who is screened,” Saravanan explained.

The screenings under Socso are open to local and foreign employees in every sector and industry.

Earlier today, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) announced that 10% of managerial and supervisory staff in the manufacturing, construction and services industries, located in places under the conditional movement control order (CMCO), will be allowed to enter their offices for work effective tomorrow.

However, these staff members are only allowed to work for four hours, from 10am to 2pm, for three days a week, as long as they are in accounting, finance, administrative, legal, planning and ICT. — The Vibes, October 21, 2020
