GEORGE TOWN – The woman who exposed Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor’s test drive in Juru during the movement control order (MCO) period on June 5 has sent a letter of demand to three parties over alleged harassment, breach of privacy and cyberbullying on social media platforms.

According to Hanini Siron’s lawyer, Faizal Rahman, the letters were sent to Sanusi’s political secretary, Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden, PAS mouthpiece Harakah Daily and another individual on August 13.

However, Faizal said no response has been forthcoming from their side so far, while Afnan claims he has yet to receive the letter.

“Perhaps the postal service delayed the letter due to pandemic factors.

“Nevertheless, we have also advised our client to issue a press release over the matter,” Faizal told The Vibes.

In the letter of demand, Hanini, also known as Nini, called for the parties to apologise within 48 hours and pay her RM1 million each in damages for humiliation, disrepute, emotional distress and infringement of her personal data and privacy.

She also demanded that they stop making any further remarks about her and remove all offending remarks from media platforms.

Additionally, she called for them to issue a public apology on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Faizal said the social media posts made by the three parties had demonstrated that Nini was a distorter, deceiver and hypocrite who acted as a vassal for political will, which elicited remarks deemed as cyberbullying and harassment from the public.

In a recent Facebook post, Nini had said she would take legal action against the three to protect her interests and her family’s reputation.

It was previously reported that Nini had to deactivate her Facebook account, which she and her husband had used to sell cars and insurance, following online attacks by Sanusi’s supporters.

She was also forced to switch off her mobile phone following a deluge of hate messages and emails.

The actions, she added, caused her to lose her income, with her contact number and family photos widely shared on Facebook that also illicited nasty comments. – The Vibes, August 18, 2021
