KUALA LUMPUR – The police arrested 549 individuals for movement control order violations yesterday.
“From that number, 547 were issued compounds, while two were remanded,” said Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a statement today.
Among the violations include not wearing a face mask (188), failure to prepare tools to record details (154), physical distancing (79), premises operating beyond time limit (34), activities at entertainment centres (9) and others (85).
Besides that, Ismail Sabri also said from April till October 28, as many as 12,937 checks have been conducted by enforcement officers with the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), which involved 7,761 construction sites all around the country.
“Yesterday, the CIDB enforcement officers conducted checks at 18 sites. Of that number, 17 were abiding by the standard operating procedures (SOP), while one site is not operating,” he said.
He also said the enforcement officers from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry have conducted checks on 12 types of supply at 682 business premises and found that there are enough supplies for the country.
“The enforcement officers have also conducted 1,111 special checks on the compliance of SOP and found that 1094 were abiding by the SOPs, while 17 others were given advice for not complying with SOP,” he said. – The Vibes, October 29, 2020
