KUALA LUMPUR – Umno leaders have began arriving at party headquarters at the Putra World Trade Centre for a supreme council meeting, supposedly to discuss the party’s terms of cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Among those seen entering through the main doors of Menara Dato Onn are Tan Sri Noh Omar, Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek, Datuk Seri Razali Ibrahim, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said and Datuk Jalaluddin Alias.
This is the second time the Umno Supreme Council has convened this week, after a holding a meeting just three days ago.
During that session, the party decided to continue its cooperation with Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his PN government, albeit with refined terms.
Although Umno has not provided details on today’s meeting, it is believed there will be discussions on conditions for the party to remain in PN, including who among its members should be the candidate for the post of deputy prime minister.
Sources have told The Vibes that other than this, the party would also deliberate over its relationship with PN, besides seeking clarity over policies and issues affecting the ruling administration. – The Vibes, October 29, 2020
