KUALA LUMPUR – Motorists travelling through Sri Hartamas are being advised to avoid Jalan Seri Hartamas 1, here, following a sinkhole that has damaged several parts of the road significantly.

According to a Facebook post by Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS), both lanes of the road located at the intersection of Jalan Hartamas 1 and Jalan Dutamas 1 are currently closed to traffic.

In a follow-up comment on the original post, ITIS said the closure of both sides of the road is necessary as the sinkhole is expanding.

It is learnt that nearby residents had earlier contacted DBKL to report the sinkhole, urging for an investigation into the cause.

In July last year, a similar incident was reported involving a 4m-wide sinkhole. The sinkhole was subsequently patched up and repaired. – The Vibes, October 20, 2021
