GEORGE TOWN – Newly formed Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) plans to win the hearts of Penang voters in an effort to win the state for the 15th general election.

Penang PBM chief Alan Oh said the newly formed party is confident of their prospects and its chances of thriving in the presently PH-administered state.

“We are confident of taking over the state as the public has identified us positively. We are also seeing overwhelming support from the people prior to our formation,” he told reporters after introducing state party leaders at an event held at the Raja Chulan Hotel, here today.

He said the party has more than 100,000 members nationwide as the people see PBM as an alternative party to take up their struggles.

“We have experienced, seasoned politicians and leaders from other parties who have embraced PBM as their vehicle to drive their goal towards serving the people.

“PBM will make the people’s dream come true by making Malaysia a country for all with equality,” he said.

During the event, Oh also announced the inclusion of former PKR Jelutong branch chief David Ong and 150 former Jelutong PKR members into the party.

The party’s state headquarters is located at Taman Chai Leng, Prai, with plans to open a party office on the island in Bayan Baru soon.

When asked about its state leadership line-up, Oh said that it has yet to officially name their committee but plan to do so in the near future during the party’s state convention.

Oh added PBM has so far recruited 2,000 members to join the party including those from other parties, as well as 1,000 new members via online registration. – The Vibes, January 25, 2022
