GEORGE TOWN – Police raided a restaurant in Beach Street here in the early hours today for staying open after 10pm, flouting the rules stipulated under the conditional movement control order (CMCO).
They arrested the 26-year-old caretaker at 1am after he allegedly turned the premises into a nightclub after 10pm.
Eight customers, aged between 26 and 52, were fined for patronising the place beyond permitted operating hours, said George Town OCPD Soffian Santong.
He added that the caretaker would be detained to facilitate investigations.
Soffian urged the people to obey CMCO regulations to help contain the spread of Covid-19. – The Vibes, November 14, 2020
