KUALA LUMPUR – Senior citizens and individuals who are immunocompromised can now register for their second Covid-19 booster shot through the MySejahtera application after updating relevant personal details.

Taking to Twitter to share the update, PhD fellow in Community Health at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM) Dr Arvinder-Singh HS encouraged elderly folk to book their second booster shot and offered his assistance to those facing difficulties registering.

It is learned that to register for an appointment, users must first update their age on their MySejahtera profile under the “Personal Details” settings section.

“Once you have confirmed that you are above 60 years of age, you will be able to register for your fourth Covid-19 dose by going to the vaccination segment on your MySejahtera and following the steps laid out there,” said a doctor close to the matter.

Noting that he had already registered his parents and several others for their next shot, he said that he has yet to assist immunocompromised individuals below the age of 60 to complete their registration.

However, the medical practitioner who requested anonymity believes that they too will have to update their personal details before being able to register.

Previously, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had announced that individuals aged 60 and above with comorbidities will be given an option to get their second booster shot around four to six months after their first booster jab.

He said that the second booster shot is voluntary, just like the first booster jab.

Last month, the ministry had revealed guidelines for the second booster shot for senior citizens and citizens who will be travelling abroad. – The Vibes, May 8, 2022
