KUALA LUMPUR – An imitation handgun and methamphetamines were seized from a condominium in Cheras following a raid last night.

Cheras police chief Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said investigations into a tip-off led them to the property along Jalan Cheras, Batu 5, and the arrest of two local men aged 31 and 46.

Idzam said checks on the property found 0.25g of methamphetamine and the imitation firearm.

“Checks yielded a green bag from inside the kitchen cabinet that contained a black handgun believed to be an imitation, with the word ‘WET’ written across it,” he said.

Checks online showed the WET acronym could possibly signify branding by the WE Tactical Training International company, which sells airsoft pistols that shoot projectiles using air pressure instead of gunpowder.

Idzam said both men also tested positive for methamphetamines but have been remanded only until the end of today.

He said the case is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the Firearms Act 1960. – The Vibes, June 2, 2022
