KUALA LUMPUR – Puteri Barisan Nasional (BN) will hold its national convention on July 31, supposedly on the last day of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the federal government and Pakatan Harapan (PH).

The convention will be held at the World Trade Centre here from 8am to 6pm and will include speeches from the young women’s wing of all BN's component parties.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is also scheduled to give a keynote address before noon and is likely to make a clarion call to the coalition which is heading into a general election soon.

The closing remarks of the convention, scheduled at 5pm, will be delivered by BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob confirmed that Umno will not seek to extend the MoU with Pakatan Harapan.

Political pundits have all indicated that this move is a clear sign that BN is dead set on heading into the election before the end of the year. – The Vibes, July 28, 2022
