KUALA LUMPUR – A tanked military tank on the exit from Jalan Damansara to KL Sentral this morning has set social media abuzz with netizens poking fun at the bizarre incident.

After causing quite a bit of congestion on the road, Kuala Lumpur City Council’s Command and Control Centre reported that the broken-down vehicle was successfully towed away.

Although the traffic command centre deems it a “closed case”, netizens, ostensibly perplexed and humoured, refused to pass up the opportunity to poke fun at the situation.

A Twitter user with the username @the_REAL_deal88 likened the situation to one playing the popular video game GTA (Grand Theft Auto) and deciding to “spawn” a tank in the middle of the road.

It appears that other Twitter users, who are presumably videogamers, also shared the same sentiments.

Meanwhile, another social media user with the username @1NEKO9 resorted to puns and said “Tank god I used another route or else I would’ve emptied my tank being stuck in traffic.”

On a more serious note, other users in the Twitterverse have expressed concerns over the nation’s state of military maintenance.

“The state of military hardware in this country is pathetic,” said a user with the username @jun_2295.

“Guess we have the answer to which army is worse maintained than the Russians,” a user with the username @earth_boy said.

Meanwhile, @DaniellaaHasni quipped that Malaysia “would definitely not survive a war”, after seeing the image of the conked-out vehicle. – The Vibes, August 26, 2022
