SHAH ALAM – PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli, who recently exposed major details behind the littoral combat ships (LCS) controversy, has explained that the exposé was deliberately done to illustrate that Malay politicians from the government bloc are the true culprits in “harming” the Malay community.
Rafizi said the people who embezzle the people’s money are the same Malay leaders who pretend to defend the Malays.
“The ones weakening the military of our country are not our soldiers. What’s weakening the system is how the allocations supposed to go to procuring weapons have been stolen by the ministers.
“I chose to expose this issue because I wanted to show the Malays who the ones weakening them are – it’s not the non-Malays who are making it difficult for the community.
“The cause of the problem is leaders who use race and religion to endow themselves,” he said during his address at PKR’s election convention.
Rafizi made a string of revelations in recent weeks on the contentious project to deliver six combat vessels to the Royal Malaysian Navy.
He admitted that he had known of the multi-million ringgit scandal for a while now but only started looking into the issue about three to four months ago.
“I am not the type to pick issues solely for political purposes, it’s also my hobby. I actually enjoy it, I feel like Detective Conan (a Japanese anime character).
“I think this scandal will continue to be an issue even until polling day,” he told reporters after the convention. – The Vibes, August 27, 2022
